Museum Quality Strawberries

It’s that time of year -- just before the crowds hits -- that the the Schroon-North Hudson Historical Society opens their doors for the season. This Sunday, June 23rd at noon, the Society kicks off it’s 2013 season with its annual Strawberry Festival, on the Museum’s grounds from 12 noon to 2:00 pm.

This is a terrific opportunity to check out the museum and consider joining this worthy local institution, one that's always looking for members and donations, to help cover their maintenance costs.

The Museum opens with its new displays of 2013: ”Out & About, the Early Days.” with an emphasis on early area businesses and their advertising,  A Children’s Corner with toys, books and games and two special exhibits for Charlotte Cole Rowe and Anna Bogle Griner (who both passed away in 2012) depicting their lives and roles in the community.

At 2:00 pm in the Museum Annex, the Grace Hudowalski Essay Contest Award winners will be announced. In previous years the entries have been terrific. You can read last year’s winning entry by Josiah Esper here. All students will be recognized for their efforts.
