Ever had that feeling that someone was pulling your leg – by telling you about a sport that sounded like it was made up – until you discovered it was true. Take For example, Shin Kicking.

Turns out it’s a real sport – and rest assured, we are not about to tell you that it’s gonna be making its Schroon Lake debut any time soon.

But we have to admit, when faithful reader Dan Riggins told us about Pickle Ball last year, we were a tad skeptical.

Turns out our fears were unfounded and not only is Pickle ball a real sport, it’s played right here in Schroon Lake.

From Dan:

We are preparing to get started again with play on Wednesday evenings starting at 5PM. We have a group who play and we invite any interested potential players to join us. You do not need equipment as we have extra paddles and balls. We also are compiling a list of players (emails and Phone numbers) to share so that individuals can set up matches with others at times convenient for them. This is a fun sport and we encourage all levels of players from beginners up to join in.

You can contact Dan on his email for more info at driggins@nycap.rr.com.

And if you play a game or three, let us know how it is.
