There are two upcoming tournaments in our area -- which based on what we hear -- should be two very fun days out.

The annual Witherbees Golf Tournament is on for Monday, August 19th. With your entry fee of $50, you get breakfast and lunch on the course as well as your greens fees.

An Awards dinner follows at Witherbees Carriage House. There are cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, and a number of other categories. There's also get a gift bag at the Awards Dinner. Call Patty or Bill at (518) 932-9595.

And next Saturday (August 10) there's a tourney to benefit the Mental Health Association of Essex County. It's a four person scramble at the Moriah Country Club. $35 for members or $45 for non members. Fee includes 18 Holes, buffet lunch and dinner and prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. There is raffle and a silent auction after dinner.
