We Hear They Are Biting

There are dozens of hardy souls out on the ice today -- and several sledders -- enjoying themselves. And organizers from the Schroon Lake Fish and Game Club, are hoping there will be hundreds of ice fishermen and women, boys and girls, and their tip ups out there in the upcoming annual Ice Fishing Derby on March 1st and 2nd.

The club has released details of the event, now in its 22nd year. Entry forms are available at Flanagan’s, Bobcat Sports and the Schroon Lake Fish & Game Club through March 1.

Late entries may be completed at Flanagan’s on Friday, March 1, or at the Fish & Game Club Friday, Feb. 28, from noon to 9 p.m. and Saturday, March 1, or Sunday, March 2.

Early registration is $12 through Sunday, February. 23, and $15.  For out of towners, you can pre-register by mail by sending a check to the Schroon Lake Fish & Game Club with a printed list of entrant’s names, addresses, and phone numbers to Schroon Lake Fish & Game Club, PO Box 725, Schroon Lake 12870. Mail in entries must be received by February, 22.
