A former Schroon Laker has passed away; From the Post-Star:

FORT EDWARD — William G. Barbolt Sr., 66, of Fort Edward, and formerly of Saratoga Springs and Schroon Lake, passed away Sept. 24, 2014 in Amarillo, Texas, while vacationing.

He was born Dec. 16, 1947, in Troy, to the late Georgianna and William P. Barbolt.

Bill is survived by his two sons, William G. Jr. of Schuylerville and Gary (Susan) of Gansevoort; his three grandchildren, Drew, Micaela and Keira; a sister, Patricia Bishop of Saratoga Springs; a brother-in-law, Larry Kilburn of Ballston Spa; Bill and Gary’s mother, Marcia Hall, of Saratoga Springs; and his nieces and nephews

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nancy Kilburn.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bill’s name to local animal shelters and/or the S.P.C.A.
