Hero Heron Battling The Elements

Thanks to Pat Thorne and her love of Nature, we are learning more and more about Schroon;s Wildlife. We received this yesterday rom Pat.

"I was on my morning walk, when I saw this blue heron’s shadow through the weeds. I thought wow, he is still here.   The wind has been really fierce and bitter along with the snow showers the past few days.  Here in a sheltered cove, he was enjoying the warming sun’s rays and preening himself.   There was still a little open water there so he could still feed on fish. Soon he will be forced to move south to enjoy the opportunities that open water offer"
