Snow Business
/This President's Day Long weekend in Schroon has our town literally buzzing: the sounds of sleds could be heard all over yesterday -- up and down the lake, on the trials and at the town golf course -- as riders finally have a good base.
And that's good for local pubs and restaurants, who saw their lots filled with sleds last evening.
The recent snow dump, while not as large as some had hoped for, was also good for the town ski tow, which saw a lot of action Saturday.
And lest we forget the ice fishing folks, they too were enjoying Schroon's great outdoors.
Over at Gore Mountain there was a large crowd of long weekend skiers enjoying 98 per of trail open. Gore has been blessed with some terrific snow falls over the last couple of weeks. What are you doing this holiday weekend? Tell us in comments.
Update: We learned after our original post it s the Schroon Lake Fish & Game Club's Poker Run -- which may explain a lot of that sled traffic!
