If you think the beauty of our lake, is only confined to the lake, then you would be overlooking some amazing local houses and gardens in our area.

And you can get a private tour of some of the most interesting properties, featuring stunning views, restorations and renovations, at the 2014 House & Garden Tour, coming up on Sunday, July 27th.

The event, sponsored by the Friends of Schroon Lake Library, goes from from 12pm - 4pm. Admission of $20 (before June 28 -- $22 after) includes the tour and a lecture by master gardener, Mary Jane Honeycutt, from Cornell Cooperative Extension, at the Boat House.

If you can’t make the tour, but are interested in Mary’s talk, tickets are available at the Boat House at 3:45 pm for $10.

There’s a brunch before the tour at Drake's Restaurant, from 10am – 12pm. ($18 person for the brunch).
