Your Schroon Weekend Starts Now

The first part of this week was just a warm up: Monday Night’s Jam session, Jay Unger  and Molly Mason at the Boathouse Tuesday and The Seagle Colony’s opening of the Italian Girl In Algiers on Wednesday.

So Thursday marks your official start to another adventure filled weekend in Schroon.  First up today is the Schroon Lake Arts and Crafters Market at 10am at the Town Hall parking lot.

Tonight kicks off a weekend of  music – and there’s plenty of it:  Witherbee’s Carriage House features the best darn Open Mic in the North Country, Sign up at 6.30pm with Maestro Mark Piper.

At the Word of Life Jack Wyrtsen Center, Trevor Morgan perfroms at 7pm in Pottersville.. And it’s the second performance of Rossini’s The Italian Girl In Algiers, at the Seagle Music Colony, which runs through Sunday. Tickets: (518) 532-7875.

On Friday, there’s another embarrassment of riches: Dan Berggren plays a special concert at the Boathouse with his amazing Adirondack stories and songs for this special benefit concert to help restore and rebuild the historic Union Meeting House in Hoffman. Also on Friday night, Steven L. Smith Brings the whole Band for an outdoors concert at Sticks and Stones. The concert starts at 7pm and goes to 10.30pm. Bring a chair or blanket and watch these rockers fireside on the lawn of S&S.
