TheFlipsydz, after playing in Schroon two years running, return again Tuesday night, July 29, for another gig at the Boat House Theatre. (8pm, July 29)

It's all part of the Schroon Lake Arts Council's Summer Concert series, which you can read more about here. Head on over to our 2014 Music and Arts Scene section for a little Flipsydz video action. More about the the group, from the SLAC

"Spanning 3 generations of vocalists, The Flipsydz create a sound from ‘the golden oldies that has the ‘youthful tone' of today's generation. The group concentrates on performing a cappella (without instrumentation) often evoking memories from the groups of the 50s and 60s singing ‘doo wop' on the street corners of Philadelphia and Brooklyn.
The Flipsydz' members include accomplished operatic singers, choral group members and solo artists who have performed in Las Vegas as well as internationally. Though their backgrounds vary, the members of The Flipsydz share a common love for a cappella doo wop music, and creating wonderful harmony together.
The Flipsydz are able to recreate the ‘authentic' sounds you will remember, while also adding their own unique style to some of their repertoire.
Whether you watched Dick Clark's American Bandstand in the 50s, 60s or 70s, (or re-runs in the 80s or 90s!) you will think you've traveled back in time when you hear The Flipsydz.
Come take a trip down memory lane, and we'll catch you on the flip side...."
