The North Country's Elise Stefanik: Making A Crack In That Glass Ceiling
/Fom today forth, Elise Stefanik will wear the moniker of being the "youngest woman elected to Congress." That is until the next sub 30-year-old makes her debut. Ms. Stefanik was sworn in as the North Country's Represenative, after winning as a Republican last November.
Many Schroon Lakers might remember her visit here this past summer by "then candidate" Stefanik, when she checked in with the lads (and lasses) at the Schroon Lake Fish and Game Club's CHICKEN & Lobster Bake,
We recall first hand how Ms. Stefanik was gregarious and charming, as she posed for photos with the boys from the Chicken Cooking Crew, amid wafting smoke from the charcoal grilling pits. (Not to mention the smelly arm pits of the cooking crew!!!)
Before today's ceremony she sat down with CBS This Morning's Nora O'Donnell, for an exclusive interview, which you can see here. She talks about her parents, how her thick skin helped her through the election, how former VP candidate Paul Ryan was her mentor and how she is gonna make a crack in that glass ceiling.
