A Winning Hand: The Mark Heinzelman Poker Run

Among the many activities folks are looking forward to this holiday weekend is The Annual Mark Heinzelman Poker Run and Valentine's Day Party, hosted by the Schroon Lake Fish & Game Club this Saturday (February14).

“Mark was a huge presence around here,” recalled The Club's Tracy Hanchett recently.

“He lit up a room. You may not have known him before he entered, but you would know all about him at the end of the night. He was a big guy, literally, with a lot of friends.” Sticks and Stones is an official stop on the tour, and are pleased to lend their support.

“It’s a terrific event for the community, and we are happy to be part of this event,” co-owner Steve Holmes told Schroon Laker.

Registration is open on Friday, February  13 at Sticks and Stones from 12pm – 8pm  or at the Club on Hoffman Rd. The Poker Run starts between 9 am and 11 am Saturday. A map of the stops will be provided. The cost is a bargain $10 per person and includes a dinner buffet and music by the Willie Playmore Band. The fun continues with raffles  -- including a bonza gift basket from the Paradox Brewery -- and a HUGE bonfire at dusk. For more details call (518) 532-7953.
