WORD OF LIFE RODEO: A GREAT FUN, FAMILY NIGHT OUT. AT THE WOL RANCH IN POTTERSVILLE. AT 6;30PM.

Excellent – we hope, and there’s more to add to the Schroon “To Do” calendar this weekend.

Starting tonight  – there’s an event that the entire town can’t stop talking about – the long awaited re-opening of our beloved Strand Theater. The show starts at 8pm – but a little birdie has told us that don’t count on just waltzing up a few minutes before the hour:  this show could be sold out, as folks can’t wit to check out the new digital experience.

There are still tickets for the Barber of Seville  -- which continues getting rave reviews  -- at the Seagle Music Colony, just up on Charley Hill Road.

At Witherbee’s it’s Tom Brady playing. And as of this writing Helen at the Timberwolf is planning some live music. We will keep you posted.

For a memory building night out with the kids, we highly recommend the Word of Life Family Rodeo.

On Saturday, thousands are expected at the 47th Annual Craft Fair at the Town Park above the beach. There are dozens and dozens of vendors – many who have returned year after year – who you may recognize. The event is sponsored by the Schroon Lake Association.

If your are in need of a good summer read, or three, there are bargains galore at the Friends of Schroon Lake Library Book sale.

It’s located in the basement of the Hudson Headwaters Health Building, to the left of the town hall. IT runs from 10 am to 2pm.

THE AMPITHEATER' AT SCAROON MANOR'S SUMMER 2014 REVAMP.

THE AMPITHEATER' AT SCAROON MANOR'S SUMMER 2014 REVAMP.

At 11am ADK Shakes presents “Songs of The Iroquois” at the Scaroon Manor Amphitheater. It's written for kids, but it appeals to everyone. Families who have seen the show love it. And if you have never been to the amphitheater at Scaroon Manor, it’s well worth the trip to use your imagination to envision what it looked like in its Golden Years.

And on Saturday night it’s the finale of the Barber of Seville at 8pm. Check for ticket availability at 518-532-7875.

On Sunday the Shakes company heads to the Tannery, at North Creek, to present The Merry Wives of Windsor at 2pm. Got an event we missed? Let us know in comments, or email us at schroonlaker@me.com.
