Big Fun in Schroon this Weekend

We are very much into those lazy days of summer  -- and that’s fine by us. But if you are looking for a little something to do – we have some ideas.

Friday

We highly recommend The Word Of Life Rodeo at Pottersville where cowboys and cowgirls of all ages come out for this free event.  There are a ton of kids activities to do, before the big main event. Starts at 6:30 pm The music on Friday night kicks off with Bluegrass featuring Tony and George at Witherbee’s at 7pm.

Saturday

There’s one huge event on Saturday that’s one of the most anticipated on the Summer Calendar: The Schroon Lake Kids Fishing Derby. It’s a fun morning out, and kids 12 and under catch some amazing fish! Prizes galore. The action begins at 9am at the Town Docks.

If you are in need of a summer blockbuster  -- The Book Store run by the Friends of Schroon Lake Library has THOUSANDS. (We are NOT kidding!) And their prices are ridiculously great value. 10am – 2pm in the basement of the Hudson Headwaters Building

Romeo and Juliet takes center stage at 3pm the Scaroon Manor Amphitheater, presented by the Adirondack Shakespeare Company.

It’s been a busy season for the company this year – and if you have never been to a show we strongly recommend you see one or two this season. Everything about this years cast and their performances are top rate.

For more information, check out their schedule, here.

Sunday

As of this writing tickets for the Annual Schroon House and Gardens Tour – and lecture that follows – were almost gone. Check for availability by calling 518-532-7737.

And Sunday night, Dylan Joseph keeps the crowd at the loft at Witherbee’s entertained starting at 7pm.
