More than 300 runners in the Adirondack Marathon started their journey at 9am on the dot, from the starting point on Main Street.

Race Director Joel Friedman said another 600 runners were signed up for the half marathon, with 120 in the marathon relay.

Once again this year’s event is an international affair with runners from 6 countries and 30 states. More than 1,000 competitors will have competed in all of the distance events this weekend.

The event brings thousands of dollars to our local economy each year.
