Lake Lovers: Why Schroon Lake Is So Pristine

Its sparkle brings joy to thousands. Its quality is pure. Rainbows can't keep their rays off it. But it’s a full time job keeping Schroon Lake in mint condition. For that we give thanks to Schroon’s two lake associations:  the East Shore Schroon Lake Association (ESSLA) and the Schroon Lake Association. (SLA)

Both organizations are always looking for folks they can educate, as well as call on for a helping hand.

So here’s the latest: The first member meeting of the East Shore Schroon Lake Association (ESSLA) for 2016 will be held Friday, (June 24) at 7:30 p.m. at the Horicon Community Center in Brant Lake.

ESSLA’s special guest will be Dr. Michael Adler of Adirondack, NY presenting an Adventure Talk and slide show on “20 Years of Sailing and Kayaking in Newfoundland and Labrador and the geology of NE Canada and U.S.”

There will be a short business meeting to include election of board members, before the presentation.

And the Schroon Lake Association Membership Meeting will be on Friday, July 8 at 7:30pm at the Schroon Lake Central School Auditorium. Guest speakers include Willy Janeway, from the Adirondack Council, David Wick, of the Lake George Park Commission, and Brendan Quirion, with the Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program.
