A Shout Out To A Schroon Laker’s Good Deeds

The Press Republican highlights the work of the North Country Mission of Hope and the efforts of many dedicated teens, including Schroon Lake native, Liam Veverka, who is now in Nicaragua.

The teens are volunteering their time and expertise at the Casita Azul School in Managua. From The Press Republican:

"The kids are very technology inclined," Liam said. "They pick it up quickly." Liam is helping the students to use tablets from Lab-in-a-Box, for tutorials in math and other subjects. And during free time, the youngsters didn't set the tablets aside but instead used them to take pictures and to watch videos.

"They really, really liked using the technology," Veverka said, laughing.
