Yowser!  Local snow plowers could not do their jobs, parts of the Northway shut down and Gore Mountain got a lifeline to extend their ski season!

And for many in our area there were power outages, harrowing drives and SNOW DAYS: NO SCHOOL.

Don Miller, who does an excellent job keeping local driveways clear, couldn’t even get out to do his job at the height of the storm.

“I went out and tried to plow and did not get very far. This storm is massive and I just cannot see at all. Just not safe at all. This is a first time this type of storm has created this condition for me since 2007. The total amount of snow on the ground now cannot be truly measured due to the winds up to 45 mph and drifted snow”.

This weekend should see an influx of visitors with excellent ice fishing, sledding and skiing conditions.

What are your plans?
