RIP: Theresa Smith - October 12, 1931 — June 9, 2017

Schroon Laker Theresa Wallace Smith has passed away. She was 85. The Post Star reports she passed away "peacefully in her sleep Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Queensbury".

Theresa was born October 12, 1931 in Chestertown, the daughter of the late Ernest F. and Lois B. Sage Wallace.

Theresa was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Gerald J. Smith on May 7, 2008.

Theresa was a homemaker living in Saratoga and later Schroon Lake. She joined with her husband ‘Jerry’ in ownership and operation of Smith Electrical and Insulation. She loved her family and family events such as Uncle Mike’s annual Christmas party and more recently, annual trips to Kennebunkport, Maine. Theresa was an accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed crafting, painting ceramics, making rosaries and counting money for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Schroon Lake.

Surviving Theresa are her four children, her two daughters, Mary Lou (Peter) Palmer of Brant Lake, and Lori Moses of South Glens Falls; her two sons Gerald (Diane) Smith II of Ticonderoga, and Daniel (Sharon) Smith of Schroon Lake; her grandchildren, Megan LaBarge, Ian LaBarge, Shelbie LaBarge, Kyle Moses, Peter Palmer, Anthony Lashway, Ryan Lashway, Dana Smith, Gerald Smith, III, Riley Smith and Carly Smith. She also is survived by 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 13 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Schroon Lake. Burial will take place at the B.H. Gerald Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. she will be interred next to her husband.
