Despite a majority of folks wanting a new Stewart's Shop, opponents and their attorney successfully halted proceedings with a "super majority" vote at a heated meeting on Monday night, which ultimately the town attorney accepted.
But several legal experts consulted by Schroon Laker.com, with intimate knowledge of how zoning laws can be changed, say anything is possible. It's all about how much money the Town is willing to spend in legal fees -- and the months the process could drag on in court -- to reverse Monday night's result.
So we are asking our readers on SchroonLaker.com, our sister SchroonLaker.com Facebook Page and the official Town Schroon Facebook page, run by David Petterson, to vote. And please feel free to leave comments, but please keep it dignified and civil.
