Schroon: The Capital of the Adirondack Music Scene
/This is a week where Schroon's reputation as the music capital of the Adirondacks is on full display.
First up, it's Monday night's open mic acoustic jam session at the Scroon Lake Boathouse. This event is proudly sponsored by the Scroon Lake Arts Council.
Tuesday the Arts Council presents Patchouli and Terra Guitarra -- master guitarist Bruce Hecksel and singer-songwriter, guitarist Julie Patchouli at 7:30 pm at the Boathouse.
Thursday it's Witherbee's amplified Open Mic Night with Mark Piper.
The premiere event is Sunday's Adirondack Folk Music Festival from 12 noon-5 pm in the Schroon Lake Town Park. This is another production from the hard working volunteers at the Arts Council, who share this:
"Come by land or by sea (lake) to this FREE open air event. The Schroon Lake Arts Council is excited to host their 28th Annual Adirondack Folk Music Festival. This year's festival will include musical groups: Atwater ~ Donnelly, Catamont Crossing, Three Quarter North, Larry Ebere, and for a bit of excitement we have included Stephen Gratto & Sons Juggling Act.
This is free family event that is open to the public and we hope that everyone will join us in the park at the Bandstand in Schroon Lake on Sunday, August 13 from noon-5pm
