Come On Up To Schroon: Leaf Peeping is Peaking

Last Sunday on Schroon Lake

Last Sunday on Schroon Lake

Spotters in Schroon Lake expect our area to be at peak leaf peeping this weekend, with 80 percent color change and bright gold leaves. That’s the official word from the Daily Gazette, who checked in with spotters throughout the North Country.

This season’s peeping season is one of the best. And there’s a reason, reports the Gazette:

It appears that the speed of change from summer's green to fall splendor slowed down in many regions of the state over the past week, according to the report. As a result, peak to near-peak foliage conditions will be visible on the fringes of the Adirondacks, the Catskills and in the Capital Region this weekend.
