We are saddened to learn of the passing of Donnie Bessey Jr. A Funeral Service will be conducted Friday afternoon Dec. 7, 2018 at 1:30 PM at the Edward L. Kelly funeral Home 1019 US Rt. 9, Schroon Lake, NY. Interment will follow in the Schroon River Cemetery, North Hudson, NY.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home Friday Dec. 7, 2018 from !2:00 PM until the Service at 1:30 PM.

Donnie died in his sleep December 1, 2018 at his home.

Donnie was born April 1, 1959 in Plattsburgh, NY, the son of the late Donald J. and Joyce (Wood) Bessey Sr.

Donnie lived in Schroon Lake, NY for over 35 years, he was a former employee of the Town of Schroon.

Donnie was always willing to help anyone with anything. The most important thing to him was his love for his family.

Donnie is survived by his sisters, Joy M. Bessey and Patrica (Jim) Klinbeil, his brothers Rod (Lori) Bessey and Paul (Bonnie) Bessey, and many nieces and nephews who loved him and called him Uncle Duck.

Donnie will be greatly missed by his family. In his years of giving he was a volunteer firefighter for 3 fire companies, Malta Ridge, North Hudson and Schroon Lake.

The family suggests memorials take the form of donations the Schroon Lake Emergency Squad, Schroon Lake, NY 12870.
