HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT MONDAY...
The National Weather Service in Burlington continues the Heat
Advisory, until 10 PM EDT Monday.
* LOCATION...From the Green Mountains eastward across central
and eastern Vermont, and the northern Adirondacks of New York.
* HEAT INDEX VALUES...up to 104 due to temperatures in the lower
90s, and dewpoints in the lower 70s.
* TIMING...Heat index values above 95 are expected to be met
from noon to 8pm today and again on Monday.
* IMPACTS...The heat and humidity may cause heat stress during
outdoor exertion or extended exposure.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a dangerous situation in which heat
illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-
conditioned room...stay out of the sun...and check up on
relatives and neighbors, especially older adults who live alone,
to make sure they are able to stay cool.
