Roy Hurd’s Walk On The Mountain Storytelling Program has been engaging and inspiring elementary school children, in the Adirondack Mountains and beyond, for more than three decades.

Using a blend of Native American stories, shared with him by his Native American friends and teachers from the woodland Indian nations of the North East, his own original Adirondack Mountain songs, and disarming, mountain humor, this veteran performer plants the seed of “Earth Morals” in the minds and hearts of his listeners.

Within his stories and his songs, Roy gently shares the importance of family values, pride in his home, the beautiful Adirondack Mountains, and the importance of caring for the earth and our environment. This caring for the environment, to insure a healthy future for the unborn generations, is a cornerstone in the foundation of traditional Native American culture.

Roy’s music is a breath of fresh mountain air, and his storytelling innocently disarming. No matter what their age, his listeners leave with the feeling they have just experienced a special time in the mountains listening to a real back-woods, but well-traveled storytelling song man.

The show is Free and  starts at 1 pm in the Town Park.
