Dozens of anglers have descended on Schroon Lake this weekend for the annual Schroon Lake Ice Fishing Derby, sponsored by the Fish and Game Club.

Early Saturday morning dozens of anglers were on the ice in their all-wheel drive vehicles, drilling holes and setting their tip ups. Many kept warm in pop up tents.

Business was brisk at the Schroon Lake Bait shop on Main Street, the Eagle Point camp ground was buzzing and several inns had no vacancy signs out.
