Stefanik Calls For Reopening of Shuttered Hospitals in the North Country

North Country Public Radio’s Brian Mann reports North Country Rep. Elise Stefanik — to help the efforts in overcoming COVID 19 - wants the Department of Defense to retrofit old hospitals and facilities across Upstate New York.

She joined in making the call with Democrat Rep. Anthony Brindisi (NY-22) whose district includes a small portion of the North Country.  

“Our nation is at a critical point in the national response to the coronavirus pandemic,” Stefanik and Brindisi wrote.

Green Party Forum In Schroon

Green Party candidates running in this year’s election will conduct a meet and greet at Witherbee's Carriage House Sunday. Matt Funiciello, Steve Ruzbacki and Robin Barkenhagen will speak and take questions at the forum style event.

Elise Stefanik, R-Willsboro, and Democratic candidate Mike Derrick, a retired Army colonel from Peru (Clinton County); Ruzbacki is a teacher from Minerva, running in the 45th state Senate District against Sen. Elizabeth Little, R-Queensbury; Barkenhagen is an art and glass gallery owner from Glens Falls, running in the 114th Assembly District against Assemblyman Dan Stec, R-Glens Falls".
