It’s beginning to look a lot like a regular July 4th Celebration is back for Schroon. The long awaited announcement that our famous Fireworks will be back this year, was the cherry on top of a list of activities which seems to be growing daily.

A hat tip to the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce for pulling together  -- in record time -- a top notch array of July 4th  favorites.

A typical July 4th Parade and Celebration takes a year to plan. Remember where we  were this time last year?  Sue Palisano and her team at the Chamber, and dozens of volunteers, have pulled together something special for this Sunday.

This smaller celebration will feature many of the regular crowd pleasers: fire trucks and free candy, vintage cars and  marching bands.  The only difference is that instead of watching them from Main Street, you’ll be visiting them at various locations around Down Town.

The day kicks off at 9 am with a crafts market in the Town Park opposite Stewart’s. At 10am the Chamber is open for ticket sales for its popular raffle basket. The drawing is at 8pm and  you don’t have to be there to claim your basket.

At 10.30am DogTown Cadillac will be the first music of four music acts to take the stage at Dock Street. At 11am the Lions Club Food Tent opens and the Family Fun Day kicks off in the Town Park. And all of this is happening before Noon, when world class wakeboarders stir things up near the Town Beach.

The fireworks begin after dusk falls, usually after 8.30pm. The full list of events is listed in the poster. What are you most looking forward to seeing? Let us know in comments.

The Chamber is seeking donations to help pay for the big day.
