Schroon Lake Foodie News Round Up: Summer 2021

A lot has happened on the greater Schroon Lake foodie scene since we last checked in. What news did we miss? Tell us in comments or ask a question?

The Pit Stop Candy Stop is now serving soft serve ice cream! The store recently added  benches outside.

Vine and Barley, the charcuterie bar with a large selection of wines and beers, is closed for this season. Proprietor Patti Mehm is concentrating on her Town Store business.

And where one door closes, another opens: The Adirondack Café in Pottersvlle, has opened a wine bar serving small plates. The bar is in the former party room space of the restaurant. Prices are very reasonable.

Fresh veggies are back at ADK Gardens!1321 US Route 9.

The bar at Flanagan’s Pub on Main Street has finally reopened. While the restaurant section of the pub has been up and running since May, the bar had been off limits.

The menu at the Paradox Brewery continues to grow. Along with their famous pretzels, potato tots and pizzas, now there’s German style sausages  -- and depending on the supply --  the kitchen is serving up grain fed burgers. You’ll also find Food Trucks most weekends on the brewery’s beautifully landscaped grounds. PDX has new later hours on Friday and Saturday, closing at 8pm. See their summer schedule below.

The Very Berry Salad is back at Sticks and Stones. This crowd pleaser: Hearts of romaine, fresh berries, almonds, dried cranberries, bleu cheese crumbles and balsamic vinaigrette made its return last week.

Pitkin’s now serves beer and wine!

Trail Break features fresh seafood, including  haddock, grouper, mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops. Lobster Bisque, Cioppino, and Seafood Newburg are making guest appearances on the menu.

DeCesares Pizzeria has new owners: Alan and Debbie DeCesare have sold their business to the Pelkey Family. We hear Alan and Deb will still be in the kitchen.  And back by popular demand: eggplant parm on the weekends.

Dock Street Dogs will be back at the Beach beginning July 9.
