Schroon Lake: Archie Bunker Fished Here!

Archie Bunker, America’s favorite bigot, fished Schroon Lake. That's according to one of Archie's neighbors. You can see the Schroon Lake reference about 7 minutes into the video.

The storyline in the episode involves Archie getting a visit from an FBI agent, who is checking up on Archie’s neighbor Larry Grundy.

When Larry finds out he is being investigated, he wants to make sure that Archie is going to put in a good word for him. Larry reminds Archie about the good times the two have shared. Says Larry:

"What, are ya turning on me?

You’re not forgetting best buddies, are ya?

All them times fishing together, ya know on Schroon Lake and Sheepshead Bay on my uncle’s boat."

We were tipped to that little nugget by Laura Donaldson, local B& B owner and current president of the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce.

"I got a call from a friend of mine, Lester, who heard it on a recent episode shown on TV Land last Wedneday,"Laura told Schroon Laker.

"We had heard rumors about Schroon being mention a few years back, but never had confirmation".

By our count -- this is first time Schroon has been immortalized on TV or film -- not counting her cameo appearance in Marjorie Morningstar. Imagine if Archie did fish Schroon Lake? What type of fish would he catch? Tell us in comments.
