Tis The Season To Lend A Helping Hand

With the holiday season in full swing, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of it all. But this is also the the time of year when many folks in our area are having a tough time.

That’s why it’s so important to remember those less fortunate, dig into our pockets and do the right thing. And there are two painless ways to help out in the days ahead   -- that you’ll enjoy doing!

This FRIDAY (December 2), Witherbee’s Carriage House, is hosting a holiday party to help the Schroon Lake Food Pantry. Tickets are $25 for a buffet dinner featuring beef, chicken, fish and options for vegetarians.

And you’ll be able to dance the night away with music from one of our favorite area bands  - The Gregson Brothers. There will also be door prizes. Reservations are required, so give Patty a call at 518 532 9595.

Another way to help is to buy a ticket (or 20!) for one of the terrific baskets in the Annual Christmas Basket Raffle, hosted by the Teacher’s Association at Schroon Lake Central School. Money raised from this event will help less fortunate local kids have a better Christmas. You can get your tickets on the following days:

Thursday, December 8th during the SLCS Elementary Winter Concert

Saturday, December 10th at the Grand Union

Thursday, December 15th at the SLCS Middle School and High School Concert.
