More Christmas, More Fun, More Schroon!

Santa’s Little Elves are busy keeping Schroon Laker updated with the latest on what’s happening next Saturday (December 10)  when old Saint Nick arrives.

We have just learned that Schroon’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will begin at 5.30 pm at the Town Park next to the fountain.

Town Supervisor Cathy Moses will light the tree, one of her last official duties before Mike Marnell takes office on January 1st.

After the tree lighting, the traditional live Nativity Procession moves up Main Street to Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

As we have reported, Santa arrives at The Strand Theater at 6 pm, with the doors opening at 4pm, with activities for the kids.

There is also the Christmas Bazaar sponsored by St Andrew’s Episcopal Church and the Community Church, to be held in their Community Room beginning at 10 am.

And don’t forget to pick up your raffle tickets for a chance to win one of the terrific Christmas Baskets, a fundraiser hosted by the Teacher’s Association at Schroon Lake Central School. Money raised from this event will help less fortunate local kids have a better Christmas.  There’ll be a table set up at the Grand Union next Saturday.
