The Cost Of Americade

As we have reported, the annual bike event Americade drives business to the economies of several Adirondack towns. Now, Warren County may ask the organizers of the event to help cover overtime pay for Sheriff’s Deputies working the event.

The Poststar reports Sheriff Bud York says his department spends $50,000 for overtime for officers to help with parking, but the county only received $4,500 from the organizers.

Now, Warren County Supervisors want further discussions on the topic. Should local government ask for payment from Americade? Tell us in comments.
