As the days get longer and warmer, the signs of Spring turning into Summer are everywhere. Like the buds on a tree signaling the dormant days of winter are long gone – Main Street is emerging from her Winter hiatus and springing back to life.

You can see it in the first of the plants in the beds of the community garden, which will be the site of a plant sale tomorrow. Volunteers will be cleaning up the area to get her in tip top shape.

You can see it on the freshly sanded and re-varnished floors of Flanagan’s Pub.

And the anchor store of Main Street, The Towne Store, has finally re-opened – just in time for Mother’s Day. The store has been one of the main draws for locals and toursists alike for mroe than 130 years.

Today marked the store’s 2012 open. Store hours for this Saturday will to 10 am to 5 pm and on Sunday 11 am to 4 pm – ready for those last minute gifts.
