Best Schools in America: Schroon Lake Shines

Schroon Lake Central School scored top honors in the recent US News and World Reports ranking of the top high schools in America. What sets Schroon Lake Central apart from many schools -- in the key categories of proficiency in math and English -- is its student to teacher ratio: at SLCS there is 1 teacher for every 9 students in the High School (The average New York classroom size is 13.3 students to one teacher)

Schroon Lakers Tina Plmstead and Sharron Tyrrell are sharing the news via the same Facebook Post:

Kudos to Schroon Lake School and students! Was recently selected to receive the distinguished "Bronze Medal" award from Us news and World Report Magazine as one of the best High Schools in the country. Our students consistently perform at or above proficiency in many areas. Schroon Lake School had 100 percent proficiency in math and 95 percent in English. Our school also received a Bronze Award in 2009.

A huge congrats to the teachers and staff at the High School. What do you think about the Bronze Award? Tell us in comments.
