Fishing For Memories: The Results of The 2012 Schroon Lake Kids Derby

Forty young anglers competed in this year's annual Kids Fishing Derby, organized by the Schroon Lake Fish & Game Club. The casting competition was won by Jake Chasnoff of Far Rockaway, Queens.

Schroon Laker's Lilly Slyman and Tristan Philp won awards for their perch entries. Local anglers Shayne Aiken and Emily Maisonville and Patrick Brigss of Williamstown Massachusetts took the sunfish prizes with their entries. Cameron Mitchell had the winning black bass.

William Shaughnessy of Albany entered the largest crappie.The largest fish of the day, a 2 pound 1 ounce bullhead won the tournament for Tyler McLaughlin of Colonie. He won a new Daiwa rod and reel combo, a tackle bag from Cabelas and a five foot long green alligator inflatable float donated by Bobcat Sports.
