The Open Acoustic Jam Session from 7pm - 10pm attracts some incredible talent from near and far. When we were last there we counted more than 10 guitars on stage, not to mention volalists, an Indian flute, a banjo, a fiddle and a dulcimer. Free at the Boat House.
Co-Ed basketball for kids at the Town Courts starting at 6 pm. Grades 7 - 12. (Also on Wednesdays)
Golf Lessons for Kids start tonight at the Town Course. 6 pm - 7.30pm. 36 Club House Drive. (518) 532-9359.
Tuesday
Tennis for kids sponsored by The Town of Schroon. Weekly tennis lessons on Tuesdays at 9 am and Thursdays at 5pm. Details at the Town Hall.
Wanna learn more about Schroon’s rich history? The first of two Narrated Boat Tours (the other runs Thursday) takes off from the Word Of Life dock at 11am. The tours are narrated by local Laura Donaldson, who knows more than she can fit into this 30 - 45 minute tour. Advance tickets are a must and are available at the Chamber of Commerce office on Main Street. 518-532-7675.
There's a great way for kids to learn about the history of the Adirondacks in this weekly summer tradition of Tall Tales at The Paradox House Gallery Retreat. Are the stories fact or fiction? You decide. Kids ages 4 to 10 hear tales about the characters who made the ADKs what they are today. 167 State Route 74, Severance. 518-351-5003
Wanna keep in shape over the summer? Zumba Queen Cathy Peace sweats off those extra calories you may have picked up, twice a week at her Zumba workout. Every Tuesday and Thursday mornings (8 am to 9 am) @ the Schroon Lake Central School gym, join Cathy for some zoomin’ Zumba. $5 per class.

Play it forward by donating blood today at the World of Life Conference Center. At 1pm
Need a good Summer read? Check out the weekly Used Book Sale in the basement of the Hudson Headwater Medical Center. Sponsored by the Friends Of Schroon Lake Library. 10 am - 1 pm. And the library volunteers would love to take all of your old books off your hands and give them a second and third life.
Story Time for kids at the Public Library goes at 10.30 am. Guest readers each week bring children's stories to life.
The weekly summer Family Square Dance is a tradition that makes summer in Schroon so special. Grab your family and friends and head on down to the Town Park. The dances are called by Ed Lowman and Friends, and this week features Gail Griffith. The fun starts at 7pm. Free
Don Giovanni premieres tonight at the Seagle Music Colony and runs for four performances. This is the wonderful Mozart and Lorenzo Da Ponte collaboration set in Spain in the 1600s. Art in The Patrk. All summer long, local artist Ann Gregson sets up shop in the Town Park with a weekly art project for kids, who almost have as much fun as the adults who attend do. Call 518-532-0275 for more information.
There’s more children’s theatre in town this week with “Faerie Tales with Lady Slipper". It’s at 1pm in the meeting room at the Town Hall. Call 518-532-7737 ext 13 for details. Sponsored by the Schroon Lake Library. Free.
The weekly Arts and Crafts Market, on the lawn of the Town Hall, continues to grow and attract new, local artisans. From hand-made jewelry, to soaps, to stone bowls, there is something for everybody. 10 am to 4 pm.
Trish Marki of The Wildlife Institute of Eastern New York will be at the Town Hall in Brant Lake at 6:30 pm with a presentation of owls and other rescued birds of prey.
The Summer Nights Big Concert series continues at the Jack Wyrtzen Center in Pottersville with Bebo Norman @7 pm.
Open Mic night at the loft at Witherbee's Carriage House is always packed. Mark Piper gets the crowd warmed up and runs this ever-popular show. Sign up at 6.00 pm with the music starting soon after.
