The Christmas Sound Of Music In Schroon

Save the date: Friday, December 6, at 7:30 pm for what promises to be a spirit arousing performance by Ticonderoga’s Champlain Valley’s Chorale.
The group will showcase its annual Christmas concert at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Main Street in Schroon Lake. The concert theme will be “The Very Best Time of Year.”
Audience members will hear the group perform a portion of Vivaldi’s “Gloria” and participate in the annual sing-along of the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s “Messiah.”
The Champlain Valley Strings is set to accompany the choir on music from the holiday film “It’s a Wonderful Life,”
The Champlain Valley Chorale includes: sopranos — Jill Brown, Grace Trombley, Jane Bassett, Merribeth Elling, Claire Best, Vivian DenBleyker, Martha Strum, Claudia Young, Julie Cogswell and Anne Charboneau altos — Jeanne B. Thatcher, Beth Hanley, Marianne Major, Ruth Malaney, Kathy Hyatt, Katie Huestis, Ellen Ellithorpe, Joan Pulling, Penny Carr, Polleen Tyler and Dorthy Brauner tenors — Richard Malaney, Bob Elling , Bonnie Reid , Jerry Treadway, Joseph Vilardo, Sue Liddell, Evan Gladding and Lloyd Burroughs.
