RIP: Francis L. Burdick 1933 - 2014

From the official obit from the Post-Star:

He was born Aug. 9 1933, in Shelbourne Falls, Mass., the son of the late Luke A. and Hilda E. Duffy Burdick.

He was also predeceased by his brother, Charles and his sisters, Pauline, Kathren and Janet.

Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until 1954. He was a member of Schroon Lake Senior Citizens Inc., where he enjoyed calling bingo games, Schroon Lake Fish and Game club and a member of Seagle Colony Guild.

Frank was a communicant and Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic church. He was the head judge at the Fourth of July parade in Schroon Lake.

Frank had an excellent tenor voice and enjoyed singing in variety shows.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kathryn Sheehy Burdick, of Schroon Lake; his stepsons, Michael (Iris) Dutton of Ponca, Neb., and Alexander (Gail) Klein of Roslyn, of Long Island, N.Y.; his step-grandsons, Joseph, John and Joshua Dutton and his step-great-grandson, Blue Judah Dutton; his brothers, Robert of Tennessee, Larry of New Hampshire and Roger of Florida; and his sister, Donna Lee of Texas.

A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Schroon Lake.

Interment will be in Gerald B. H. Soloman National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call from 2pm  to 4pm  and 6pm  to 8 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, at Edward L. Kelly Funeral Home 1019 U.S. Route 9 in Schroon.

The family suggests memorials take the form of donations to Schroon Lake Emergency Squad; or Schroon Lake Senior Citizens Inc. Schroon Lake, NY 12870.
