On The Road Again...

The much anticipated repair of Route 9 in Schroon Lake has begun. And with it – some delays in traffic. And that gave Shawn Baker the chance to take these photos. From Shawn:

"I took the photo while waiting for them to let us through this morning on my way to work. It's between the Dollar store and Charlie Hill Road. They had a few other trucks there, too, but this giant saw was the coolest looking one."

That giant saw, according to Town Supervisor Mike Marnell, is making “saw cuts.”

“They're making saw cuts now, down through the road.  They've got a big carbide tip blade, they cut out the sections that have got to be dug out," Mike told Schroon Laker today.

"This is concrete, so they saw it off and they'll excavate those places. The state's (DOT) doing some work and using a private contractor”.

In the weeks ahead the repair crews will work their way south.
