Fire Destroys Schroon Camp

A fire destroyed a Schroon Lake camp on Tuesday, following a storm with high winds and lightning.

The blaze, first reported at 12.27pm, was extinguished by the Schroon Lake Volunteer Fire Department. Its cause is still not known, according to a report in the Press Republic.

The property was located at 1520 Adirondack Road. The camp is owned by Joan Spear, who lives in Loudonville, near Albany, according to the Essex County Real Property Office.
