Fire At Frontier Town: Arson Involved?

Arson may be the cause of a fire set in an abandoned building, which once housed a restaurant in Frontier Town, reports the Press Republican.

NORTH HUDSON — State Police are probing a fire that did only slight damage at the old Frontier Town Restaurant in North Hudson.

Schroon Lake-based State Police and North Hudson firefighters were called to the restaurant, located off Route 9, at 2:56 p.m. Thursday. They found a burned area inside the restaurant, which closed in 1998 when the Wild West theme-park also shuttered.

Police have listed the fire as a possible arson. The building is owned by Essex County and had been taken for unpaid back taxes. There is no electrical service to the structure.The Essex County Fire Investigation Unit is also investigating the cause of the fire.
