A Big Spring in The Tri-Lakes!!!

Tri Lakes General Board Meeting Minutes:  April 3, 2015

ATV Ride: May 30th starting at the Tin TeePee at 10 AM followed by cookout at 5. Donations for door prizes for both events that day are needed so let us know if you can help! Proceeds will benefit new Electric Sign fund (for in front of the NW Chamber building).

Craft Brew Fest:  May 30th at the Hub in Brant Lake. 5 PM - 8 PM - $25 admission to benefit new Electric Sign. Saratoga Brewery coming plus others! It was suggested local home brewers also be invited to attend and committee will look into this.

Woof Stock:  June 20-21. This is getting bigger than we thought.... we have the Hudson Valley Dock Dogs http://www.hudsonvalleydockdogs.com , Beantown Disc Dogs https://www.facebook.com/BeantownDiscDogs and Doggie Fun Zone (agility & lure chasing - coming up from Florida!) http://doggiefunzone.com. confirmed at this time, and they're all doing their own advertising campaign so we think there are going to be an awful lot of people showing up over the 2 day event. North Shore Animal League & Adirondack Save a Stray will be coming with 40 - 50 dogs up for adoption (great time of year to get a puppy!). Wood Stock Revisited concert on Saturday night is set, Blessing of the Animals, Police Canine Demonstration & live music, food, & beer/wine tents are all in place. We still need a pet photographer and volunteers to help with selling t-shirts, etc. so if anyone is interested let us know! Let's out our tie-die and get ready to travel back to 1969!

Electric Sign:  Committee met at the property with Paul Matson (Garnet Signs) and plans are moving forward... would like to have this in place by this summer. Big thanks to Fred Holman for taking the reins on this one!

Carol Theater:  This year's schedule is attached (feel free to print & post). Many great performances set up -  thanks to Al & Ellie Tolomeo for organizing this! They still need volunteers to help with ticket sales, ushering, concession sales, etc. the night of each performance so if you can help for one performance or for many, call Al at #494-5318. We're asking all the lake associations to let us know who a good contact person is so we can get performance information out to them, and we're asking everyone to pass the word!

Farmers Market:  Opening day will be June 17 at 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Rack Cards:  A committee was formed (Al, Ellie, Don, Cindy) to develop rack cards for distribution this summer (instead of placemats).  TLBA and other town events will be on one side with Carol Theatre performances on the other. Any organizations who have events they'd like included please let us know ASAP as we plan on getting these printed soon. Email info to cmead3@nycap.rr.com St. Patrick's Day Parade: Another great success! Thanks to all who helped make this happen! Plans are to move it closer to March 17th next year.

NW Chamber of Commerce needs ideas for an event(s) to replace the Pug Parade in the fall. There has been a great response so far with lots of suggestions/ideas. Next meeting is Monday 4/6/15 at 6PM @ the Chamber building for anyone interested in helping out.Healthy Community Planning: Kathy  Varney  reported there will be a Chestertown Challenge highlighting the 6 high peaks in our area, signage for a Tri-Lake bicycle trail, trail head signs, new benches, and kiosks & message boards near the Caroline Fish Trails.

Rustic Charm will be opening this week in the Carol Theatre building. They have +/-25 vendors selling homemade & handcrafted local items from pottery to jewelry to fibers! Classes in pottery (both evening &after school) will be offered along with knitting & crocheting classes for anyone interested. Great for Ladies' Night Out, Birthday parties and individual or group instruction. They will also be open on all theatre performance nights with coffee so stop in and check it out!
