Bach In Schroon

Schroon lives up to its reputation as being the music and arts epicenter of the North Country with two amazing events this weekend.

Tonight, (Friday, June 5, 2015), The Champlain Valley Chorale will present its spring concert on at 7:30 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

The program showcases the choir performing works by Handel, Gershwin, Schubert, among others. Works by Bach, Beethoven and Brahms will be played by The Champlain Valley Strings.

The concert is under the direction of Jeris French and accompanied by Vaughn Watson. All are welcome to this free event.

On Saturday the Seagle Music Colony presents a Centennial Concert at the Schroon Lake Central School auditorium at 7:30pm.

It’s a thank you to the greater Schroon Lake Community, which has played host to this amazing institution for 100 years.

The event features five alumni and the greatest hits from the Colony’s first 100 years. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.Tickets are only available by phone, at 518-532-7875, the SMC downtown office or the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce. There  may be tickets available Saturday night at the door. Seating is first come, first served.
