Fireworks Are On: But A Few Dollars More Is Needed!

Fans of Schroon Lake near and far have ALMOST raised enough cash to have Labor Day Fireworks. Technically there are happening – but there is still a short fall in the funds needed to pay for this event.

In a matter of days, after the alarm was raised that the Labor Day Street Party would not end with a bang, checks started arriving at the Chamber of Commerce and the Town Hall,

“The money has been trickling in,” said Schroon Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tammy Whitty-Brown.

“People are excited. It’s going to be a great night out!”

The celebration kicks off ON SATURDAY with a huge garage sale in the park above the beach. Funds from the rental of a space to sell your gear goes to the Schroon Lake Senior Citizens center.

The party kicks off at 7:30pm with the Willie Playmore Band on Dock Street. The fireworks are set to begin at 9:30pm.
