Essex County To Schroon Area Second Home Owners: Stay Away

Folks with second homes and camps in Essex County are being urged not to travel here by Shaun Gillillan, the Essex County Board of Supervisors chairman.

In a press release, posted here, Gillillan  says the travel advisory is in keeping with federal and state guidelines for people “to stay home and stay put.”

Gillillan is also urging all property owners – including second homeowners --  to remove all short term rental listings, including but not limited to Airbnb and VRBO properties.

The press release came out hours before President Trump announced at a press conference late Tuesday asking everyone who left the coronavirus-stricken metro New York City area to self-quarantine for 14 days.
