Wolf Stock 2016: What A Howler

It’s one of the premiere events of the Dog World – right up there with the Westminster Dog Show – but with a distinct Adirondack bark!

It’s Wolf Stock 2016, to be held this year over the weekend of June 18 & 19, right in the Center of Chestertown.

And organizers  -- from the Tri-Lakes Business Alliance-- are looking for a few extra helping paws for the event. They are meeting at the Panther Mountain Inn on Wednesday, April 13th, at 5:15pm to chew things over. So how cool is this event? More from Cindy Mead:

“Bring your four-legged friend for some pool diving with the Hudson Valley Dock Dogs, let them try their ‘paws’ at Agility & Lure Chasing with Doggie Fun Zone, show off their disc catching skills with the Beantown Disc Dogs or enter them in the My Dog Has Talent Show!

Police Canine Demonstrations, Adoption Agencies, Pet Groomers and Specialty Foods, Blessing of the Animals and music throughout the day promises this to be an event not to be missed! Wear your tie-dye as we go back to 1969 and don’t forget the Wood Stock Revisited at the Mill Pond in Brant Lake on Saturday night!”

Sounds like more fun than chasing a clowder of cats!

Wanna Hear A Great Yarn?

Well, there was lots of yarns shared and a lot of yarn spun yesterday, when women from as far away as Plattsburg, Willsboro, Schroon Lake, Loon Lake, Beaver Pond, Lake George, and Chestertown gathered for “Knitting in Public”.

Schroon Laker and knitter Julie Sawyers tells us it was a “wonderful afternoon” outside the Chester Yarn Boutique.

"Food and conversation and great weather made it a very enjoyable afternoon. The national “knit in public” day was in June, but it rained here".
