From the Schroon Laker Email Bag, from a reader who wants to plan his Schroon Summer vacation around this event: “When is the Kids Fishing Derby?”

The Kids Fishing Derby is Saturday, July 26, 2014. The contest is always held at The Town Docks and is co-sponsored by the Schroon Lake Fish and Game Club, under the watchful guidance of Mary McDonald and Joe Steiniger. Everyone gets a tackle box and there are hotdogs and drinks !

How old do you have to be? It’s for kids under 12 .
