For winter fun close to town, there’s no better place to be than at the Town Ski Tow, where tubers, old school sledder, skiers and snowboarders come for some fast – but brief – down hill action. Hours and Rules: Saturday and  Sunday 11am  - 4 pm, Winter Break: Feb 14 – 22. With Schroon's Old Towne Store closed for the season, The Adirondack General Store in the Hamlet of Adirondack is your go to spot to buy all things Schroon Lake -- from signs to Hoodies. Oh, and did we mention they're developing a kick ass menu that has locals returning time after time. From a hearty breakfast to amazing soups and more at lunch, this is must stop during any season.  And on Monday (February 16th.) there's their first annual "Art of Pizza Challenge"  with 8 teams competing! So come and join in the fun for $1 a slice with all proceeds going to the Horicon Food Pantry!

Bring your skates and sticks for a pick up ice hockey game at the Town’s Ice Skating Rink, next to the Hudson Headwaters Health Building.

Warm up in the PDX tasting room this weekend. The brewery has special hours for the Presidents Day-Winter Break: Friday, from 4 pm - 7pm, Saturday,  11am – 6pm, Sunday 12pm - 4pm and Monday, 11am – 4pm.

Bundle up and take a walk on our areas Lakes. Visit with the ice fishermen and women and see how they do it. It’s a great activity for kids.

 

Take a snowmobile ride with Craig Kennedy, best known as the co-owner of the Schroon Lake Marina, who also has a winter sledding business. Reservations are strongly suggested. More info, here!

Escape the cold and check out the work of some truly talented local artists at Anthony Ruiz's Giant Mountain Gallery featuring their Winter Warmers Exhibit. More than 20 artists and more than 170 works will be a part of this show.
