Good Night Moon

The keen eye and camera of the talented Edward Healy captured this stunning image of the moon over Trout Broook Road im Olmsedville last night. The hand held shot was taken around 9 pm with Ed’s trusty Canon SX130 12 Mega Pixel camera

The moon was 14 per cent bigger and 30 per cent brighter than the smallest full moon of the year, which will be on November 29.

The reason for the super-sized moon with its apparent extra dash of lunar luminescence is simple: distance. Last night's full moon coincided with a moment in its orbit when it passed closer to Earth.
